Garth Brooks Hosts All-Star Charity Gala With Auctioneer Joel Langer


DALLAS

As part of the entertainment and festivities that surround the 2007 NHL All-Star Celebration in Dallas, Garth Brooks hosted an All-Star benefit for Garth Brooks Teammates For Kids Foundation fundraising dinner and live auction with Joel Langer on Monday, Jan. 22.

The event, presented by the National Hockey League (NHL), the NHL Foundation, the National Hockey League Players™ Association (NHLPA) and Texas Dodge Dealers, featured a performance by three-time Grammy Award-winner Trisha Yearwood.

NHL All-Stars, Young Stars and former NHL players were among the guests that attended.

Among the items that were available in the live auction an NHL-themed OC Chopper, a customized motorcycle designed by Orange County Choppers, the popular bike manufacturing company featured in Discovery Channel hit reality show, American Chopper; an NHL All-Star prize package that includes a tour of the Eastern Conference and Western Conference All-Star locker rooms for two plus two tickets to the NHL All-Star Game; a trip for two to the 2008 NHL All-Star Celebration in Atlanta, incl

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Garth Brooks Teammates For Kids Foundation, the official children's charity of the NHLPA and the NHL. The partnership focuses on the Top Shelf Teammates program, which contributes financial resources to non-profit organizations that benefit children's health, education and inner-city services.

Since its inception in 2005, NHL players have donated more than $1.5 million.


Mike Ditka Hall of Fame Golf Outing With Auctioneer Joel Langer


Pro Football Hall of Famer, Mike Ditka is one of the most popular and recognizable sports personalities in America. As a player, coach, television commentator, motivational speaker and restaurateur, he has done it all and with remarkable success.

In 1989, he established The Mike Ditka Foundation, which raises money for Misericordia, a residential facility for developmentally disabled youth, and for the pediatric AIDS program at Children's Memorial Hospital.

Ditka also raises funds for Misericordia through his annual golf tournament, The Mike Ditka Hall of Fame Golf Outing, which also benefits Pro Football Hall of Fame members who are in need of financial and medical assistance.
